Global Noize
Global Noize - The All-Star Pan Cultural Collective of Electronica World Funk Fusion - Embarks Upon Three Week End of Summer Tour

Promising to be one of the most mind-blowing concert musical experiences of the year, the Global Noize All-Stars are taking their intoxicating musical message of unity in the face of adversity to the road with the late summer leg of its 2008 tour. Comprised of forward thinking musicians from varying corners of the globe, this cross cultural jam band will be giving audiences not only a feast for the ears but for all the senses.
Global Noize is the multi-culti brainchild of Jason Miles and DJ Logic. Jason Miles is the Grammy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated keyboardist producer and composer whose resume stretches from jazz icon Miles Davis to Brazilian songwriting great Ivan Lins. DJ Logic is master turntablist who has looked beyond hip hop to collaborate with the jam band Phish, jazz visionary Don Byron, bass master Marcus Miller and black rock firebrand VernonReid. Together, this duo leads a band of pan global gypsies through a ring of sonic fire that began with the late April release of the Global Noize CD.
"The world is a Global Noize," Miles explains, "and we need to come together in these difficult times. Great music has the power to do this. The artists and musicians on this project represent a great diversity and this is what the world is really all about." DJ Logic adds, "Global Noize is a hip and eclectic musical journey crossing all boundaries."
The album showcased a dizzying range of compositional fusions from "Bollyhood" (where Indian music goes to the ghetto) to "Querar Dancar" (a Brazilian bossa nova joint) to "A Jam 4 Joe" (dedicated to the otherworldly audio-spheres and compositions of late, lamented Weather Report leader Joe Zawinul) to "Dar'abesque" (named after the villa Miles and Logic inhabited in Marrakech...featuring Herb Alpert on trumpet)!
The musicians who will be "Bringing the Noize" of these songs and more to vivid life for the live concert experience are as follows.
Christian Scott, the hot young trumpeter whose thus far two solo albums have been welcomed by critics as proof that the spirit of jazz will not be lost.
Bernie Worrell - the high voodoo priest of keyboard and synthesizer wizardry best known for his loopy contributions to the funk-rock circus that is George Clinton's Parliament-Funkadelic army, and later the African influenced new wave dance experiments of David Byrne's Talking Heads.
Mike Clark, the celebrated polyrhythmic beat keeper who held down the drum throne in Herbie Hancock's groundbreaking funk-jazz fusion band The Headhunters with lickity slick soul and straight ahead jazz chops.
Oteil Burbidge, the deep rooted Aquarium Rescue Unit bassist who held down the bottom for blues rock's legendary Allman Brothers Band in the place of Allen Woody.
Jay Rodriguez, the fiery saxophonist of New York's pioneering acid jazz band Groove Collective.
Falu, the lovely young singer-songwriter whose own 2007 debut is a world rock rainbow of musical color and vibrations.
If you thought the Global Noize album was far out to listen to, wait until you experience it happening all around you. In many ways...it already is. Tune in!
