Terence Blanchard To Join Herbie Hancock For European Tour

GRAMMY-WINNING TRUMPET PLAYER/FILM COMPOSER TERENCE BLANCHARD TO JOIN HERBIE HANCOCK FOR EUROPEAN TOUR AND BEYOND



 
Stellar band to consist of Blanchard, Hancock, James Genus, Lionel Louke, Gregoire Maret and Kendrick Scott

Los Angeles, CA--Grammy-winning trumpet player/film composer Terence Blanchard will be joining Herbie Hancock’s three-month tour of Europe commencing at the Opera House in Vienna, Austria, on September 30th.  The tour, which runs through the beginning of December, includes stops in Germany, Luxemburg, France, Holland, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, the UK, Greece, Russian and Poland, with additional dates to be added.   

Joining the world renowned trumpet player/film composer Blanchard and keyboardist extraordinaire/film composer Hancock for the tour will be bassist James Genus, Lionel Loueke on guitar  (whose new CD, “Karibu”, was released to widespread critical acclaim earlier this year), celebrated harmonica player Gregoire Maret, and Kendrick Scott (Terence Blanchard Quintet) on drums.  Both Blanchard and Hancock received Grammy Awards in 2008 for their latest CD’s, “A Tale Of God’s Will (A Requiem For Katrina)” and “River: The Joni Letters” respectively. 

The tour will take-in an unprecedented 37 cities with additional dates still being added.
